Cape Town, South Africa

About City

Cape Town the second most populous city in South Africa, after Johannesburg is also the legislative capital of South Africa. The Parliament of South Africa is situated in Cape Town. Cape Town is home to 64% of the Western Cape's population.

The city is known for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, and for landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Proudly multicultural, its flourishing arts, dining, and nightlife scenes are proof of this modern metropolis' creativity and innovative spirit. It was bounded on the northwest by the ridges known as Lion’s Head and Lion’s Rump, on the north by Table Bay, on the south by Devil’s Peak, and on the east by marshlands and the sandy Cape Flats beyond.

Cape Town International Airport has regular flights to Europe, North and South America. Cape Town is the terminus of a railway network that extends northward to Zimbabwe and beyond.
